The sculpture is solid and heavy, special care is made during packing and delivery.
My sculptures are all inspired by the sea and coast where I live in Hove. I look at the textures of eroded pebbles, drift wood and shells. Also the movement of the water and tides.
All of my sculptures are sculpted in clay or plaster, they are then moulded and cast to a very high standard in my families sculpture casting workshop, LS Sculpture Casting.com, have a look at the website to see more about the process.
Each sculpture edition is unique as they are finished by hand using several stages before the final cold cast bronze resin with wax patina finish is achieved. These sculptures are of the highest quality finish and great care and time is taken to achieve this.
Frequently asked questions
Q. Do they weather with age?
A. The sculptures are completely frost-proof making them suitable for the garden. The sculptures can be cleaned if required by using water and or mild detergent.
Q. What about after care?
A. Do not use strong detergents or chemical cleaners, as this will destroy the patination. It is advisable to polish them with pure bees wax once a year. Brush on the wax from the tin, leave for 5 minutes before gently buffing.
Q. Securing the sculpture?
A. The sculptures are made with a threaded nut encapsulated in the base where a threaded rod can be screwed into the base. Please let me know if you require a specific fixing as the bolt will be firmly fixed to the sculpture and then bolted to the slate base.
Q. Ordering sculptures?
A. Ordering an additional sculpture in bronze or another finish such as aluminium or rusted iron for example has a lead-time of 6 weeks.

The sculptures are made with a threaded rod screwed into the base and cemented in. This is then bolted onto the slate base if provided with the sculpture.
The sculpture can be fixed using an extra long bolt to be attached to a pedestal, however this needs to be requested.
However if the slate base is placed on a flat non porous surface, I recommend securing it with Museum Wax, which will stop it from being knocked off.
With a spatula scoop out 4 large blobs and simply put them on the surface and push down the slate base and sculpture, giving it a wiggle to position it.
I supply 3cm thick slate bases either 30cm, 20cm or 17cm with my sculptures, which have a hole in the middle 1cm and countersunk on the underside by 1.5cm deep (for the nut attachment) by a diameter of 3cm.
Useful information about how to display your sculpture can be found here:

Some photos show my sculptures displayed on slate-affect planters that have been turned upside down and used as pedestals. They are relatively inexpensive and you can find a variety of stone finishes and sizes. They are also easy to move around. One customer placed a tile, matching in size and colour, on top of an upturned planter to display their sculpture, which looked great. https://www.primrose.co.uk/planters
Here are a few links to pedestals that I have found on the internet, however I'm not able to endorse them. Just copy and paste :-)
